Is healthy lifestyle SHAMING a thing?

Do people give you the side eye when you say “I am making a healthy lifestyle change”?

Do people say “oh your on a diet”?

Do people poke fun at the fact that you go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week?

Do people make the the nasty remarks about the small portions you eat compared to what they are eating?

Do people try to force you to eat unhealthy because they are?

Well all of this is coming to mind because I have experienced all of the above. I don’t think it is fair comment negatively or bring someone else down because they have decided to participate in making their lifestyle healthier.

Latest incident to date

Someone asked me how did you loose all that weight?

Before I could utter a word

Someone else said “because she starves herself”

Wait wait …WAIT ONE DAMN MINUTE. Starvation is a severe deficient food and or calorie issue. It is a serious epidemic in some parts of the world. Maybe she was trying to be funny but I didn’t find it a joking matter.I don’t believe anyone truly seeks out to starve themselves.

Yes I know longer go to wingstop twice a week for lunch.

Yes I turn down donuts and pizza when offered to me now.

Yes I eat in smaller portions than before.

Yes I know my daily sugar intake, carb intake and sodium intake.

Yes when you see me with my gym or yoga pants I am ACTUALLY going or coming from the gym.

But does that mean you can say that I am starving myself or make any other rude comment because I decided to become healthier. I think not.

I just think people don’t know what they are saying at times or they don’t know they are being insensitive .

I try not to judge people who aren’t on the same journey as me and I expect the same. I am not forcing weight-loss and workouts down anyone’s throat. So please don’t try and discourage me and or others from better our lives.

Do people try and make you feel bad because you want to change? Do people share too much of their opinion on your healthy life style change? When you go out to eat to do people try suggest what you should be eating?
